Hi guys

Just bought an Audi A3 1.6 se for the wife so i thought i'd join a forum and found this one, She's a 98 model with 80,000 miles on her. She's in fantastic condition so i've taken some pics for you all to see. As i'll be driving it aswell i'd like to tart it up a bit.

Planned mods

1 - 19" rs4 reps
2 - Lowering springs
3 - Full colour coding
4 - S3 facelift rear lights
5 - All in 1 headlights.
6 - S3 rear spoiler
7 - Window tints

So here's my questions, whats the lowest drop springs you can buy? will the 19's fit on wiithout many problems? And what sort of price should i be paying for the S3 Parts?

Many thanx in advance

Paul

Ps, dont need speed from this car by the way as I own this :icon_thumright:

Nice tidy looking A3... if I were you'd I'd go for 18's and not 19's as they will make it look like its on stilts and make the brakes look rediculously small. Lowering springs I wouldn't go too low considering the standard shocks are likely to have seen better days after 80k. Eibach do a 30mm lowering spring kit which should look fine. Cant help with the S3 parts but keep your eye out in the for sale section as these things come up occasionally.

Well sounds like a good list of mods, you weren't cruising the M4 in the last few days following Black S3!! :detective2:

Sounds nice, but what about the car?

Wouldnt put 18's or 19's on it mate i had them on mine and the brakes look absolutely tiny and the car tramlines like hell - set of S3 17's would be nicer - also wouldnt fully colour code the car as the black helps break it up a bit - S3 bumpers are nice tho.

Stick with the tints and facelift lights tho will make a huge difference.

If you're lowering it i'd buy shocks and springs which unfortunately isnt so cheap

Hello & :sign_welcome: to the site.

Ok guys, decided i'm gonna be going for 18's and a set of coilovers and deck that bitch to the floor, anyone got any pics of a3's decked on coilovers?

Also, does anyone know if they do replica 18" S3 alloys?

havnt got any pics, but if your going more than about 40mm up front you will need a new ARB, as the standard ones catch the drive shafts, and can actually wear through them!

If you mean the AVUS wheels you get on the s3 you can get them from Performance alloys, its on there somewhere

i wanted them for mine:noway:

Can you explain in ore detail, i take it arb means anti roll bar?

what replacement item will i need and how much?

Thanx

yea, basicly, the hoops that go up over the driveshaft on the standard bar, will foul the driveshaft if you lower it too much.

being hollow, the shaft will eventually wear through and snap! it happened to someone on here recently.

as for new ARB's, i think most of the after market ones are modified to allow further lowering.

H&R or eibach seem to be the best for the fwd A3, PM DPM, hes been really helpful for me with a load of stuff!
