Has anybody DIY'd their starter motor?

It appears that the symptoms in my earlier thread "flywheel problems" http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=39338 is actually the starter motor. It seems to fit in with the flywheel noise having gone, now apparently come back, and the age of the car would not be adverse to the starter beginning to fail. Also being located close to the flywheel, it would explain why the noise seems to come from that area.

So can anybody point me toward a DIY guide?

Cheers
Andy

I have changed it, not took apart a starter motor since I had my fiesta Mk 1! To change it is very easy, I think there are just 2 bolts, its been a while since I done it and you just undo these (very long) bolts and pull it out, remove the plug be careful its very fiddly but I did it without removing anything else. Putting the new one in requires some slight of hand and you need to slide it in at an angle then push down.
