hiya guys and girls

just noticed my drivers side CV boot gaitor rubber is split and needs replacing so whats a good price for the gaitor to be replaced by a garage?im not going to the stealers for obvious reasons!

i have done many of these before but havent got the time at the moment and needs doing pretty soon, even though grease is not everywhere i just want to be on the safe side.

is it best getting the kit from audi or just leave everything to the garage?

any help would be appreciated!
thanks

Price for the gaitor itself is £4, plus your grease. And perhaps a full hours labour as they'll round it up....

audi do a full kit of new clips, grease , boot and stretch bolt and I think a couple of washers for about 18 quid. A special tool is required to fastern the clamps up. Pliers can be used but not as good imo.

probally looking at 1-2 hrs labour.

i have used pliers before and they just come loose and your back to square one!
thanks for the advice

I had the same thing fixed on my S3 by a local grease monkey for £26, it was under an hours labour but they just rounded it up.
