Crail track day, S3 pics

Just thought i would post up some pics of my S3 from yesterdays track day up at Crail, Scotland.

As for my car all went well, killed the tyres, but that was the plan [URL="http://www.scottishcarclub.com/phpbb/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif"][/URL] .

Had a few braking moments but they done okay for OEM, will need to get my Brembo's on soon.

The biggest problem i was having was understeer every where [URL="http://www.scottishcarclub.com/phpbb/images/smiles/icon_evil.gif"][/URL] No adjust-ability on the throttle at all. I know i will need dampers, springs, tie arms, and ARB's to change this but can't afford that little lot all at once. Could i just fit the ARB's for now?

v.nice mate, looks like you had a lot of fun up there. I would say fitting ARBs alone would be ok, it would change the feel of the car big time, so I'd say go for it and then try getting some springs

as for ARB's only - depends on your budget - it'll obviously be cheaper in labour if you get the whole lot done at once...

I fancy some R32 Arbs. They don't sound that stiff so should be ok for the standard shocks & springs. (better than standard) Feel free to correct me if I'm not doing the right thing. I'll be doing the Brembo's at the same time. The OEM setup is scary.

looks like a good laugh! Better than ur usual scaff 1/4 days held there, thats for sure. How much was it and whens the next one on mate?

Aky, the problem i have read with the R32 ARB's is that they are the same ratio stiffness front to rear as standard, so yes you will be going that bit faster but it will still understeer once on the limit. Also they are designed for a big 3.2 upfront. As for the OEM brakes i did not find them as bad as i was expecting, no feel being the biggest problem. Not trying hard enough.

scib4, i have the setup you are referring to, and it seems to me the understeer has actually become a tiny bit worse, after insatlling the R32 ARBs. i've been reading around, and as far as i can tell thick front ARBs tend to split the loading so reduce the grip available (if that makes sense?)...whatever, lots of knowledgeable people agree that thicker front ARBs reduce front grip...
so i would advise you to get the neuspeeds or similar in appropriate size.

dultanur, i would not buy R32 ARB's as above, i would go for the Neuspeed Race Anti Roll Bars as in my sig

in a perfect world, so would i, but you wouldn't beleive the prices over here. i paid around 350euros for the R32s...neuspeeds, i couldn't even guess...
