how to unplug lights?

just tried my hardest to unplug the main plug from the headlight on my facelift a3, it would not come out? how does it unplug?
 
The actual bulb holder? it doesnt
 
Or do you mean the single connector for the whole headlight unit? just pull the tab and pull the plug it'll come off.
