Door Strips

You know those strips along the bottem of the door.. How do you fix them on?!

Nearside is starting to come away from the door slowly.

Anyone got diagrams etc of how it fixs back on??

sound a bit odd,

They are held on by sliding them onto metal pins that are welded to the door.

Best bet it is to take it off and have a look at the plastic back of the strip itself.

To take it off there are 4 screws to undo - one at each end which you can see when the door is open, 2 are covered by little black caps. These ones are a ****** as you need a magnetic screw driver to get them out (i still have one ratteling around inside the door. once the screws are undone, you can slide it off, pulling away from the door hinge - it can be a bit tight.

Why don't you try and take it out?, the door card is relatively easy to remove on an S3, 5 minute job.

I also recommending getting a new set of screws from Audi at 28p each, the old ones WILL rust an seize, the new items seems galvanised and non magnetic, so magnetic scredriver won't work! You will definitely need to remove doorcard to get the 2 middle screws back on, unless you have steady hands!!
