Quick question, should the brake line fitting that fits into the caliper be tapered, like the bleed niple? The brake line i have has a flat bottom.

Mike

Are you fitting the Brembo kit?

If so what you have is fine....I wonder myself when fitting just did it and it all works fine.
Only thing that took me a while to work out was connecting the braided hose to the brake lines -- you have to first connect the adaptor!

Yes Brembo kit mate.

Surely that's not right as the caliper has a tapered hole

Hum, i think i only have adaptor, anyone got a pic of it? And know where i get a replacement?

Mike

hum, will check this end (think i took some pics b4 i fitted). have u got a picture of the braided u can post?

Cheers mate

Will get a pic on Sunday, does seem odd. Anyone else remember what theres is like?

Also anyone know where i can get anther adaptor?

Left is the end of the hoses that connects to the caliper, no tapper. Next is the bleed nipple with a tapered end, surely the hoses should be the same to make a secure connection. And on the right is the adaptor, i think. Found the other one!!

Pics of the hose, is this the right one?

Anyone got any fitting instructions thay can e-mail or fax me? Or even know if there is a PDF i can down load?

Cheers Mike

Looks like u got all the right bits to me

The adaptor in the 1st picture on the right hand side connects to the hose in the 2nd picture again on the right hand side. This then connect to the car brake lines.
*Its the raised points on the adaptor that secure it through the fixing on the car.

The other end looks exactly like my braided hose, which I connected into my Brembo caliper no problems...all working fine.
I believe its not tapered for the below reason....

The bleeding nipple is tapered so that when you tighten it up it beds down and doesnt let any fluid escape.

...now all you need is 2-3 hours to fit and ur sorted

Cheers for all your help mate as no one else seems to be interested or know

Anyway my father-in-law is sill not convinced it is correct, so he is now going to use my Goodridge hoses which i bought when i was going to up grade the OEM. Just need new banjo bolt's with the correct thread (3/8 UNF i believe)

Anyone else run Goodridge hoses with the Brembo caliper's?

no probs... sure that i am right though.

2 ways of checking:
call a brembo distributor like GP Automotive 01562 512512 (terry jones)
..or fit the kit with the braided hose supplied....you will find it works, that the caliper fills with fluid etc.

What u dont wanna do is use an unbraided hose with the 4pots, will loose all effectiveness of the upgrade. I am not sure, but I would question the ability of a non braided hose to carry the load.

Either way mate good luck. I am about 150 miles into mine and they are superb....full of confidence 100-0 :)
