Climate upgrade - PIN out help!

hi guys, in the middle of my double din dash conversion and testing the buttons and climate unit.

can anyone tell me what this is (circled in red.) bottom unit is old.

the only thing i can think is that its the 12V in (since the climate unit doesnt power up. )

i have 2 spare plugs from the old dash, one is a 12v to the climate fan (the thing that sucks air in over the thermostat for cabin temp). and a 2 wire plug that went to the thermostat i guess for sending the temp to the climate unit, all this is built into the new climate unit.

    ta for help

ok so i got an electronic parts catalogue off ebay, but it didnt have a schematic for the climate unit.

i contacted VAGparts to see if they could help and they sent me the following PDF which is the pin out i guess. unfortunatly its a bit beyond my knowlage so would appreciate some help guys.

    Thanks

That PDF you got from VAG Parts is too old for your unit.

Pin 1 goes to the heated rear window, pin 2 goes to a 25amp fuse in the fuse box.

    Tried this,

All that happens is that the wires to pin 1 and 2 get warm still get bizzare issues and the climate unit doesnt power on.

think im going to have to revert back to single din. unless anyone has any other ideas / suggesstions?
