This is something I would plan to do when I find a TDi Quattro!
I had a Predator Motorsport one on my Golf GT TDi and it had a great sound, deep but not boomy, it was just the back box so I doubt it had much affect on the performance but it was on the car when I got it!
I have always gone with Scorpion s/s systems for my last 2 325i's and on my Cossie, I know Miltek are quite popular with VAG but they seemed very quiet.
Has anyone on here done this mod? Would be interested to see any pics and know how they sounded in your opinion.
