Sensor On N/S Tie Bar

Hoping someone can help me out.. I have just replaced my rear springs with Eibachs and after takig the N/S rear wheel off i noticed a small sensor on the tie bar which looks like a load sensing or height valve of some kind..
The sesnor is bolted to the chassis and has a small arm which joins to the top tie bar.. BUT it has snapped off.. What is it??

Its the self leveller for the Xenon headlights, assuming you have Xenon's?

I Thought it might be.. well the arm has snapped off guess its a trip to audi for a new part..
