Hi all

Im new to the site and am going to look at an A3 TDi Quattro at the weekend, its an 02 plate.

Is there anything I should look out for as its only got a short MOT

I have Golf MK4 GT TDi 110 and currently have a Bora SE TDi 115 so am kinda familiar with the engines etc...

Do the A3's suffer from rear subframe bushes going and other Golf traits?!?

Thanks in advance for any info

Cheers

Anyone?!?

The actual car I was going to look at fell through!

So im still searching again now, any tips on things to look for would be good!

Cheers

Dave

Dave,

Check it's had the cambelt & water pump done at 60,000 - if not it'll set you back around £350 ish to sort out, full service history is nice but not crucial as the engines are generally very strong if maintained properly.

Other than that, the condition is the general giveaway of how the car's ben treated - i always look down the gaps between the panels for little bits of wax / polish etc as i think it shows the owner looks after the car well.

good luck with the search.

Mike

The Haldex oil change at 20k intervals is about the only thing to check for over non-quattro cars. ARBs are a common one I believe; mine were done by the dealer as part of the sale. Everything should be screwed down tight; be suspicious of rattles and creaks.

I cant seem to find a any pics of nice 5 door ones on here? little help :ermm:
