Buying an S3...what to look for??

Hi,

I am on the look out for an S3 to replace my 1.8TQS and just wondered if you guys had any pointers of what I should look out for.

I want the facelift 225bhp version. What year did they facelift the 8L S3?

Is there a certain engine code I should look out for?

What turbo do they have? the Ko4 and do all of them have this?

Did they all have Xenon lights?

and anything else that people think that I should look for and might want.

Any help would be much appreciated so I can narrow down my search.

What happened to the BT going on your A3 mate?

Weighed up the cost and thought S3 would be better money spent i guess?

Exactly that, If i spend the little extra on an S3 and then save for a BT kit then I would have a nicer car as a result that I am more pleased with. I just love the wider arches on the S3!

Also all my 1.8TQS mods will fit an S3 apart from my Neuspeed front mount. So I can transfer them all over before I sell.
And a nice shiney new S3 Milltek turned up for me today too!!

in my opinion make sure you go for the facelift s3, either 210bhp or the 225bhp. Not a big difference really, as i have drove both.
Just down to the spec you are after.
Mine is a 2000 facelift with 210bhp, sunroof and armrest and heated seats.
I'm more than happy with it.
