Had my CV boot replaced a few weeks back by what they call themselves, "a VW/Audi specialist" and the boot appears to have come loose or maybe split and ****** grease all over the wheel and surrounding parts...

The boot doesnt appear to be loose and falling off.

Is it drivable until i can get it over to them to fix?

Regards
Dave

about 10 miles, but considering i've done a 300 mile round trip to manchester today touching 130 on the way home i presume it must be ok?

it should be ok for that distance, just dont thrash it, there is probably still quite a lot of grease still in there.

I fitted the audi cv boot kit last year but couldnt get the boot clip tight enough so it came off.

Replace with a after market clip and purchased the correct tool for tightening them and all was ok, then last month that clip came off so have now done the job again with the pukker audi clip and all is well again

as long as its not noisy when driving you will be ok. just dont drive like a bat out of hell.

Yeah it'll be fine, you could probably drive around with a burst boot for months.

The joint would be fubar tho

Perfectly safe to drive, just don't be surprised if you need a new CV joint and/or drive shaft after a week :)

cheers guys, took it into audi and they had a quick look. they said they think that the garage put too much grease in and its just been forced out the joint by pressure!!
