HELP a3 quattro just died!

erm help please
the birds Audi A3 quattro has just died!!

there is no life in it what so ever, nothing works, nothing lights up just dead!

it has been working fine up until now and this has just happened
need to get it running before we finish work so we can get home n get out on the ****

guessing its something to do with the bty, gonna get some jump leads n try that & also try cleaning all the contacts. what else?

heres some pics of the bty, whats that terminal block on top of the bty?

is there any juice in the Battery? Have you tryed some jump leads on it ?

check the Main earth strap is still attached


With a complete loss like this its usually some thing really simple

Try putting jump starting from another car if you have no luck there using one of the jumper leads connect from the Battery - to an exposed area of metal on the Engine block then try it !

pretty sure it will be the Earth or the Battery is fooBar!

gonna go get some jump leads now n try soon, soon as i can get out of work!

when trying to jump using the car bodywork, should i use neg to car body n pos to pos on the bty?

can i use a multimeter on the bty to check for life?

If you turn the ignition, do the electrics turn on?
Clock/radio/lights?

If not, then its a safe bet the battery is having a long weekend.

i would just go for straight battery to battery to start with mate then if that doesn't work move the negative/Earth Jump lead from your battery to the Engine block and try again

try looking in view hole for battery condition.

Undo vent caps and check water level.
