hey guys, spoke to aps yestoday, they STILL dont no what the rattling noise is, the options were,
go ahead with the turbo conversion and hope the rattle stops, or
strip the engine and see what the problem is!!
so i opted for a strip, but was thinking if they are going this far would it be worth changing pistons etc and going for 460bhp??!! only a thought! would be alot more expensive seeing as they are stripping the engine? let me no what you think, and yes brakes and suspension are being replaced!!

Wow, thats a hell of an investment.

What did Ed suggest be the best course of action? After all, they are specialists so would be best placed to advice as they know the situation..

didn't speak to him spoke to some other guy called Andy? i think, anyway ed was meant to call me back this evening about it but i guess he will call tomoz!

Makes sense to uprate the internals if your gonna have the engine stripped anyway mate. Glad youve decided to uprate the barakes and suspension too mate.

so do you guys think its worth getting 460bhp? any idea on cost?

Don't know about costs, but you will certainly be the first to have 460bhp from a 1.8T on this forum that I know of, it's nice to be original aye. :)

Personally I'd stick with the 350, in the normal world, when are you going to use the extra 100Bhp???

Well, unless you have a wealth of track days planned.

Thing is, your never ever going to get this money back, spending 5K on a BT conversion by no means ensures the car is worth 5K more, in fact its usually worth less than an unmolested model of the same age.

Plus going 460 from 350 and you are squarely in the realm of depreciating returns.

I'd save the extra, get it running at 350Bhp and buy a nice TV or something with the change...

Last time I saw Badger Bill was running close enought to 460Bhp wasn't he? Mind, as mentioned, hes not on this forum!

See i'm find this very hard to believe, this has been going on for far too long, if one of my techs couldn't give me an answer I would give it too another one...They are meant to be specialist aren't they???

go ahead with the turbo conversion and hope the rattle stops

Was that there idea???
I would be going nuts by now, Ed you need answers before you commit anymore ££ or time into that engine

460BHP from a 1.8T that is going to cost alot and I would have thought you are going to compermise the reliabilty of it too

It will be a rocket but cost a fortune

APS need to give you answers ASAP

Go for 350BHP which we all know works well and pocket the cash...good deposit on a house or flat....

You will never see your money back out

I believe the Badger Wagon is now over 500 - and it's only front wheel drive.

hey, yeah has been going on far to long, i was told 2weeks to do the Lot but they have now had it 3weeks, still not ready, its really starting to **** me off. i have asked ed about the even bigger turbo, takes it to around 400bhp, but as you guys said probably not worth it, so when he gives me the price on Monday I'm going to ask why its taken so long and express how unhappy i am with them! i want my car back!
