Gear Knob size

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the gear stick with the knob removed (ie shaft diameter), also how is the gear knob stuck on in an audi?

Cheers! But I was after the actual size of the gear shaft not how to change it. I also just realised this is in the 8L section whereas mine will be an 8P
I'm asuming it's going to be the same size though?

I had one on my beemer some years back - Would like to have one for the audi. BMW MINI accessories, Bespoke BMW Gear knob, Handbrake, Custom BMW Shift Knob, e-brake

Wow they're nice! However I actually have access to machinery and material to do my own so I'm super tempted to design & create it myself
