Does anyone fancy doing my haldex service? It is just coming up to 40,000 miles so is due. I've been quoted:
£85 from Lightcliffe VW
£85 from IVC in Leeds
£90 from Airevalley in Skipton

I don't mind paying for it, but I think the prices above are a bit steep, especially when you can get the work done at a dealership for less that a specialist

Any other recommendations?

Don't grumble at those prices; I'm booked in to have mine done this weekend at Bedford Audi at a cost of £126. Hatfield Audi quoted £205 :faint:

parts alone is £30, an hours labour about £50, so prices look right... you could do it yourself, but haldex filter removal tool is approx £30 for a good one.

so if you do it yourself it will cost £60 and a bit of hassle getting under car doing it... or £85 letting someone else get dirty :)

Im about to do mine at 48k bit late but I know the 20k wasnt done until 28k. Just waiting for a dry day when im off work. £85 for filter and oil seems a good price tbh.

Spot on - Just priced everything up from GSF. Filter £17.50, Oil £9.50 tool £24.99 - I think i'll pass on getting dirty & more than likely ruining the job.

Thanks for the comments lads.

so has anyone on here done this job themselves?? ime thinkin of doin it myself as it will need to be done soonish. how long does it roughly take would u say and how hard would u say it is compared to an oil change for instance??

i got quoted £50 all in for a haldex oil and filter change if i got my cambelt, waterpump, tensioners done at the same time, so it came to £400 all in including VAT at a local specialist.

i had the REVO remap done there so they want my custom again so i think that price is ****** good.

batwad-£126 at audi for haldex and filter- thats overpriced in my opinion! and the other quote at £205 they should wear black and white shirts and masks!

i think £80ish is the going rate...

Not by Dave at ADS by any chance? I got them to put Revo on my previous motor. Good lad - scared the sh1t out of me in his Cupra

yes by Dave at ADS, small world!
his cupra was running around 300BHP i beleive!? was it his driving or the car that scared you!?lol

Yeah - 285 rings a bell. Think it was his erratic driving style that scared me around all the ring roads where his unit is.

Aky- have you bothered to uprate to stage 2 of the REVO, i think it is exhaust system etc?

I've got Custom Code on my S3, will be probably putting phase 2 on that at some point over the next year or so if I get a bit of spare cash. At the moment I'm in desperate need of some stopping power. I think for the Revo s2- £50 will be money well spent.

i have the SPS3 switch which should of been 300quid including VAT, but got one off ebay delivered for 150 quid, bargain.
try ebay because your likely to get a bargain mate
