    Haldex Service

Does anyone fancy doing my haldex service? It is just coming up to 40,000 miles so is due. I've been quoted:
    Ł85 from Lightcliffe VW
    Ł85 from IVC in Leeds
    Ł90 from Airevalley in Skipton

I don't mind paying for it, but I think the prices above are a bit steep, especially when you can get the work done at a dealership for less that a specialist

    Any other recommendations?

parts alone is £30, an hours labour about £50, so prices look right... you could do it yourself, but haldex filter removal tool is approx £30 for a good one.

so if you do it yourself it will cost £60 and a bit of hassle getting under car doing it... or £85 letting someone else get dirty

Im about to do mine at 48k bit late but I know the 20k wasnt done until 28k. Just waiting for a dry day when im off work. £85 for filter and oil seems a good price tbh.

Spot on - Just priced everything up from GSF. Filter Ł17.50, Oil Ł9.50 tool Ł24.99 - I think i'll pass on getting dirty & more than likely ruining the job.

    Thanks for the comments lads.

i got quoted £50 all in for a haldex oil and filter change if i got my cambelt, waterpump, tensioners done at the same time, so it came to £400 all in including VAT at a local specialist.

i had the REVO remap done there so they want my custom again so i think that price is bloody good.

batwad-£126 at audi for haldex and filter- thats overpriced in my opinion! and the other quote at £205 they should wear black and white shirts and masks!

i think £80ish is the going rate...

Yeah - 285 rings a bell. Think it was his erratic driving style that scared me around all the ring roads where his unit is.

I've got Custom Code on my S3, will be probably putting phase 2 on that at some point over the next year or so if I get a bit of spare cash. At the moment I'm in desperate need of some stopping power. I think for the Revo s2- £50 will be money well spent.
