    After market head units.

    hello,

i recently broke my head unit (it kept going stupidly loud when i lowered the volume, so i punched it and smashed the screen).

my question is, if i fit an after market head unit, will my dash display and sub in the boot still work?

If not, it looks like I'll just have to buy an audi cd player off ebay.

    any info would be helpful.

    thanks

It's only a crappy cassette player anyway. I wouldnt piss on it if it was on fire.

cheers jason. I was after a dvd head unit myself, will be able to get 4.7gb of mp3s instead of having countless cd's lying around getting scratched.

IT's just basically a huge design flaw, requires a new micro controller with updated firmware and a new memory chip, so not really worth repairing.
