Hi again,

So here is the 'lovely' shiny DV that makes a 'great' sound.

PITFA.

I assume the original DV was located at the back of the engine, where the blanking plugs are.

So the 'nice' DV runs through here:

Am I correct in assuming that that I can replace the original DV (N75 thingie??? and run the vacuum hose to it (as the original pipe is no longer with the car) and Bob' your uncle??

I have another intercooler - inlet manifold pipe on it's way, so will replace that asap, but in the meantime, can I leave the now non-working DV in place??

Anyone???

Cheers
Jason

:hi:

i would wait until you get the inlet pipe 1st. Not sure how the engine will react if you run 2 at the same time tbh

Was going to use one of the blanking plugs on the end of the blue hose - just thought about that one....

So is it the N75 thingie I need?
What is the connector at the top? - will the silicon hose from the 'nice' DV trigger the OE DV?

Cheers
Jas

sorry my mistake, yeah you can. Plug the BOV valve hole at the intake hose side with a bung from the normal DV side. Fit the normal DV in its normal position, and hopefully that blue pipe will reach.
As far as Im aware the N75 is a valve that controls boost

DV = diverter valve
N75 is a valve that controls boost and comes in diffent forms H,J, and so on.

they are not the same thing, i cannot belive your cars is running correctly with them blanked off.......

What happended to the thrid pipe that comes into the top.

Yep - got confused, now remember the N75 is the boost controller.

The third pipe you refer to I assume is the vacuum pipe that controls the action of the DV, if so then it is the lovely thin blue silicon hose that originates from the front right of the engine

I intend to use this hose to re-connect to the OE DV....
If it won't work please tell me what I need to get it to work.

Cheers
Jas

P.S. I didn't add the K&N air filter - in the process of replacing it with an S3 OE part - good old flea-bay.

Jas

So.........if anyone want's to make me an offer for the K&N filter before flea-bay????

I'll take it that no-one on here would want the K&N??
Might advertise it on the MkIV forum......

What about a Scorpion Cat-Back Stainless Steel exhaust???
Any takers here??

Ho hum, off to Aylesbury Audi for the DV then.

Jas

Daz,

Cheers for the pdf - very interesting.
Also helps me to look for the vacuum hose.

The vacuum hose for the DV I have comes from the front right of the engine, whereas the hose for the OE comes from the back of the engine.....

Just off outside to check my car........

Back.... nothing as obvious as the removed DV and the caps..
Where would mine be??

Ooo Oooo Oooo.

Just found the original piping and it's all still in place. Brilliant.

Just need a few small jubilee clips to secure and a new DV (getting one later)......

Excitement - no more will onlookers think - 'Who's that TW*T in the silver car'

Let joy be overflowing.

Cheers all.

Right next Chavvy thing to remove.

Air filter
Too loud exhaust.
18-Inch Kahn RSC alloys - want to go OE, maybe some 17-inch 5 spokes or 18 inch RS6's???
