mpg for a 1.6

Hi all

I'm getting about 26 mpg out of a 1.6. Is it me or does that sound really crap considering it isn't exactly a performance car?!!

Ur not alone matey, how old is your car? i get say 26-30 out of mine, hence why im getting rid of it as i do abotu 500 miles a week.

My expenses which should cover fuel, tax and insurance only really just cover my ****** petrol lol

Its now 9 years old. I bought it thinking oh thats a cheapish way into audi ownership.

I may as well have put extra money to the insurance and got a 1.8, or 1.8T.

I suppose lowish mpg is what you have to live with when you drive a performance 1.6 car!! lol

haha i know, i think its partly to do with the fact that it has to try a little harder just to keep up on the motorway etc, but its still got pretty awful consumption even considering that.

The 1.8 is pretty worthless anyway tbh you really want a 1.8t or go the way of the tdi
