just bought a 2000 s3 and the brake pedal is soft! just wondered if this a common thing or that my brakes are dodgy
Is the pedal travel shorter without the engine running?NEiLS3LK51 said:Mine went very soft after having a brake fluid service. Used to travel 1" before bite, now more like 4".
Unless you are experiencing a long pedal, rather than spongy one. It could be a seized caliper. The usual problem is the rear caliper carriers binding on corroded pads. If you pries them out and clean them up with a wire brush, it should cure it.NEiLS3LK51 said:Mine went very soft after having a brake fluid service. Used to travel 1" before bite, now more like 4".
