Just writin for a bit of info. took my TDI in 2day for a full major service + cambelt, water pump, haldex and dodgy temp sensor.. gonna take em till monday...good job i got access to another car...they estimated around £600 for all the work. i no cant do much about it now. jus wated to see if this is about right. its a VAG specialists.

cheers

I've been quoted £350 for the cambelt and £280 for my 60k service (including brake fluid change) on my 1.8 sport. £630 in total for what sounds like less work than yours...:uhm: Also at an Audi specialist but in Surrey...so £600 doesnt sound bad at all.

1k but mine was from a stealership oh and plus MOT

£280 for a service

£5 air filter

£5 oil filter

£30 plugs

£30 oil

i dont get it

My dad took his 530d to get a service at an independant the other day, £350 quid it cost him and he was trying to tell me this was a bargain, i woulda slapped him if he wasnt me old man!

If anybody wants to spend 300 quid on a service give me 200 and ill do it for you, bargain honest guv

cheers for the replys guys, loks like i aint getting ripped off. id do it myself but theres way too much **** to do and u need all the special tools to get at most of the bits. its easier to let some one else worry about it, and get reassurance that if it goes wrong it aint my fault!!!

i had my 50k service done at Dubsport for £90. :) I do get a slight better labour rate tho because i've been going there years and always plug them in mags.

picked the car up last night, total cost of 605.96 and had all the following work done:
Cambelt, tensioners and idle rollers,
Waterpump
Snake belt
Haldex Oli and filter,
Service, inc, Oil filter, Fuel Filter, Air Filter etc...
and they fitted my new LED Sidelights cos i couldnt be ***** lol!
car feels really smooth now, dont know if thats because ive been driving a vectra for a few days or what lol.
Well im now skint but my cars running fine lol.

A tip I have for lowering the costs of your service is to find out if your dealership offers a lower cost service option for cars over 3-4years old.

My local dealer (Glasgow Audi) has something called Club Class. My last service when I called them up they were quoting me £295 for the service, when I reminded them that I had Club Class, the price changed to £125.

Remember, unless you ask them if they have cheaper options, then they'll be more than happy to take the full price off you if you.
