Down Pipe question

Guys i'm thinking of changing the downpipe of the car, lots of people have told me that the difference will be huge with this change, but how many noise will this bring to the exhaust system? i don't want a noisy car that's why i'm asking it

If you keep the cat in place noise should not be too different on your 1.8T. Changing the system makes a big diff to the noiose and to be fair, some systems (miltek as eg) can be a bit boomy if you put the full turbo back on it.(ie incl cat).

If you decat, prepare to wake the neighbours!!
