Greetings People!

Bought a new S3 about 5 months ago. Best thing I ever did... Unfortunately, I have felt as though it has under performed since the day I got it. I have moaned to Audi ever since who run diagnostics on it and say there is no fault.
I only run it on optimax. Two weeks ago they took it in, replaced the air mass sensor and reset the program management and the car was like an animal unleashed, spent first two days concentrating on not driving into the car in front!! IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER... 225bhp raw...
Anyway they had it in last week to do some work and reset the ECU!! GITS!!! It's performance is now back to being sluggish and unresponsive and I have to thrash the pants off it to get anywhere close to the power I hade the previous week...
Could some kind person explain to me or point me in the right direction as to the programs used in the ECU and what Audi do by default when resetting the chip.
And what should I ask Audi to do to get my performance back?
Thanks in advance...

Arvo and welcome, do a search on the previous posts as there maybe something about the ECU, alternatively have a look at the VAG-COM idea or maybe someone can provide the technical specs, I know there are some here: http://www.s3-passion.com that may help.

Good luck

Jester,

Thanks for the response! I'm gonna give Audi one last chance this week to sort it again. I will then take it to an independant garage and have it fully rolling road tested and make them pay for it should it not be the dogs boll..
Then I'm gonna have it modified to 275bhp... Check the pic in the newbie thread I posted, I'm sure it was the last ever S3 with sat nav...

Take it to a specialist like AmD or someone similar - I have little faith in most Audi dealer's to find anything other than a flat tyre (and in fact that seems to beyond some of them!)

There are exceptions though
