A3TDI 130, 2nd Gear.

I dont know if anyone else on here has had the same thing but for a couple of weeks now ive been finding that my change into 2nd gear has felt rough.

It feels really notchy, almost as though you can feel the cogs engaging through the gearstick.

Is this a sign of a dying gearbox or is there a simple remedy my simple mind cant think of.

Changing the gearbox oil might help it, on my car the manifold heatshield slips down( simple put it back where it should be although its fiddly), and it actually touches the linkage making all gear changes a bit of a nightmare, as its only in second i doubt that this is your problem tho.

I had the same thing on a mk4 golf,quite common i think.
