Side indicator removal A3 8L

Hi all, can any one tell me how to remove the side indicators on a '98' A3 , do you have to remove the inner arch or do they just pop out, i'm wanting to change the original amber ones for smoked ones.

They should push to the back of the car slightly then pull out.

I had to take the arch liners off to pop mine out. wheel off, 10 or so Torx screws and then should be easy.

i wrapped a butter knife in masking tape then gently prised mine out, no damage to the paint or the indicator if you are carefull.

no all you need to do mate, is push either towards the back of the car or to the front of the car then it should just pop out...simple as that mate.

I had to lever mine out too as they were still solid after pushing them to the rear. I wrapped a screw driver in insulating tape.

thats the best and safest way, thats what i did,

other methods can easily snap the light or clip
