I'd like to get a bluetooth kit that will connect with the stereo in my S3 so that the cars speakers are used during calls.

I read that BOSE could cause issues here, can anyone confirm kits that work in the way I want?

Will the Sony Ericsson HCB-300 work?

I have a K750i, but change phones often so prefer good general compatibility.

i have a HCB-30 installed in mine, and it works a treat!
i havent got the calls comming thro the stereo but the unit mutes the stereo when a call is comming in and displays phone on the display. the little speaker is good enough for fone calls, ive been told the price of the module to make it go thro the speakers is not worth it.
ive used loads of diffenent phones with mine, currently on a samsung so yeah u can use pretty much any phone with BT.

ive got the symphony II unit but cant see y the concert wont have the muting function. had mine fitted by an audio specialist as i couldnt b bothered taking the dash apart and finding all the places to hide it.

hope that helps

I have a motorola one that works perfect through the head unit it even comes up "phone" on the front of the head unit, I think its been in the car from new, I've got the manual for it so could check the model number if you like?

i use a sonyerricson w810i and it works perfect, it also works with my friends nokia too.

Apparently you can set it for voice recognition, but I've not messed around with that yet.

I too have a HCB-30 and unless you purchase the extra lead you won't get the sound to come through the speakers with bose. As mentioned above, the HCB-30 comes with a little speaker which I used in my S3 with Bose. I believe the extra lead is approx £70-£80 if you want it coming through the car speakers.

I now have the kit in my A3 (without Bose) and it comes through the speakers fine. To be honest with you, I was disappointed at first when I had to use the little speaker, but there isn't really any difference.

As said above, the volume will still mute and phone will come up on the display.

It lists the HCB-300 & HCB700 for the K750i accessories so I guess both will work.

You need a speaker as Bose is 2 ohm, I have mign in the pockect to the right of the steering wheel. Very easy to do yourself as muting the stereo is grounding pin 2 of connector 3 from memory.

I put the controller here in my old car. http://www.pbase.com/steve1975l/image/60057459

The mic can be run up the A pillar and even put in the light dome for a better job.

Yes please. Also what HU are you using and is it BOSE?

Thanks for all the other info - would really still rather it came thru the car speakers, then there's one less thing to find a place to mount/wire in.

HCB-30 on my S3, (Sat Nav + with Bose)

and it does work through the speakers, with nothing more than the parts supplied in the box.
