mate it is easy to do, quite suprized myself.
if you have paint and scotchbright etc, think you could do the whole thing in 4-5 hours, so an evening job, then next day just get them alligned checked etc.
took me a bit longer because as i was doing it the guys on here were giving the info and advice,

if people want i can take a complete set of photo's when i put my second one back together, kind of photo guide on what goes where etc..

    Cheers

I find the S3 headlights awful as it is, I can't imagine how bad it would be if i tinted the lenses.

There's a couple of little rods that the lights use to work out it's levels. One on the rear tie-arm, and one in the N/S wheel well. They break easily and that could be your problem.

Hi mate, just got in from work. Good list of photos. I was going to take pics as i went along but to be honest i really couldnt be bothered as i just wanted to get them done. As well as that i had the complete interior out at the same time too.
What colour have you gone for there? Is it a dark grey or black colour?

What i did was cover my chrome grille in black tape to get an idea before going the full way and painting it. Gave me an excellent view of how it would look.
Mine being a silver car i painted the door trims in the same body colour. Looks a lot better.

I love tearing through the forest bit that takes you into cults, I sometimes back the traffic up leading up to it so i can get a clear run!

ok so I fitted the lights to the car tonight and they look the dogs nuts, with the lights on and led side lights they look awesome and it makes no difference to the lights performance.
Ill take some pics tommorow and show what they look like on the car.

    Cheers

    Swede

Ps. have taken the crome grill off as well and am going to give that the satin paint job in the morning (gotta use the rest of the paint, so might as well Lol)

Sorry I forgot to take any before pictures and i dont have any decent frontal pics.
here is a photo i found showing normal lights and another photo of mine i took this morning

I have followed a couple of mates down the road and they said it makes the front of the car look more aggressive, makes the lights look really good at nighttime and also has no effect on the light output

i gave my indicators a very very fine silver spray. i was meant to be chrome paint but it just comes out silver. gets rid of fried eggs, v.cheap, you;d never know as you cant directly see the bulbs, light output seems to be completely uneffected to my surprise.

Well.. I've spent the last half hour trying to do this. It's awkward because mine's a gas oven and i have to worry about the flames. I don't know what gas mark and how long to keep it in. It seems however long i leave it the silicon is not getting tacky. i'm trying to scape the silicon out without much joy, i'm getting really frustrated now.

I'm leaving the oven on, but placing a pizza in it this time.. My patients has worn thin for this attempt, maybe find a friend with an electric oven to help me out, might be worse because the headlamp is new and the silicon is in better condition than others?

cha1n, i had my oven temp on high and left mine in the oven for about 60 seconds, if you get your oven really hot and then turn the gas off it should still be hot enough to soften the seal and then you dont have to worry about flames etc

    Good luck

Cheers Swede, well hopefully i'll have better luck next time i try, i'm not properly doing the mod until christmas time when i've got the time off of work to have my headlamps off the car, i'm just trying it out of a spare headlamp to see how easy it is and iron out the problems.

Are there any particular screws that are supposed to be removed before i attempt to remove the lense? I took the screw closest to the edge out as i could visibly see it was doing something, but the one next to it i left as when i loosened it, it seemed to just be holding the indictor inner in. So scarey thinking i might just melt the headlamp, its already starting to look a bit ragidy around the edges where i've attempted to pry it apart, but it really doesn't budge! Anyway less moaning, hopefully this will work next time! Thanks for any help
