    Engine treatment

    Hi all,
I've managed to get hold of some 'X-1R Engine Treatment Concentrate'.
Here's a link for the website page:

Any views on if it's wise using this in the S3?

My mate swears buy this stuff in his Alfa twinspark, improves fuel economy and extends life of engine, but then he does own an Alfa lol

I use Shell V-Power and 0w-40 engine oil, IMO they do much the same job between them without the need for further addatives.

I've use V-Power anyway, although I'm not sure which oil type it is atm but it was audi who serviced it last so it 'should' be decent stuff I'd imagine.

Depends whate servicing schedule you are on. but it's probably not as good as you'd think or considering what they probably charged.

They agreed to service it when I bought it but it was actually done a couple of weeks after I picked it up, some shoddy excuse about not having enough time etc.

i've used motor silk in my previous car, and i beleive it helped the fuel economy a little bit. i can't tell about the longevity, as the car was totalled at 12.000kms.
