MOT's up for renewal this month, and my bushes have recently started to squeak really bad.

Has anybody's car actually passed with squeaking bushes?

A bit worried about this, as I don't really have the dosh to fix it. :(

squeaking - not a fail. Perished or split is a fail though.

Will I know from driving the car if they have split or perished?

Or do i need to get under and have a look around?

Cheers for replying!

What? The 1st day of price hike and i getting MOT'd. I was going to do it today.

Think i may have some suspension issues, fingers x'd.

You are having a laugh, i was going to have my MOT done last week but i put it off..

I think you'll have to get under to check the bushes, when mine were gone it was more of a clunk/knock than a squeak though so you may just make it. It's not so bad though i bought the whole wishbone with ball joint and bushes fitted for like £30 and fitting doesn't take long..

Did you fit the wishbones yourself? How did you split the nut from the balljoint? A friend of mine had some trouble with this and even with all his weight, and he's pretty built, he couldn't shift it.

He had his MOT today, and it passed, though he thought it would fail on the bushes after being told they were perished in June.

Hopefully that means I've got some time in hand on mine...
