Facelift wing mirrors on pre-facelift car?

Anyone know if OEM chrome wing mirrors from a facelift S3 will fit straight onto a pre-facelift S3?

If there are any modifications to be done, are they straight forward enough?

They won't fit, you need the complete base to fit the facelift versions on!

When you say the complete base do you mean the black plastic part that bolts onto the car door?
