    Jabbas 4 Motion RR Remap

On Jabbas website, the 4motion RR will give bhp increases of between 212-230bhp whereas the normal RR gives less, whats the difference? besides using all 4 rollers? ill obviously be going for the 4motion remap if they can get more out of it?

    I thought "4motion" is Volkswagen's 4 wheel drive system - eg Golf 4motion, Passat 4motion. Don't think it's a RR?

    Isn't the 4motion a 2.8 V6 using the haldex system?

    That's confusing.

They must mean Quattro surely? ie 1.8T originally 150BHP and 1.8TQ originally 180BHP? The 4motion label applies to VW not Audi.

They're just marketing names used on 4WD vehicles build by the Volkswagen group.

    Audi - quattro
    VW - 4motion
    Transverse engines - Haldex
    Longitudinal engines - Torsen

    Well they're both expensive anyway.
You think with the cheaper one they pull the fuse out, and RR it in FWD mode, then overheat your Haldex at no extra charge.

    It's just a typo isn't it?

For 4Motion, read quattro, and for 150 bhp, read 180 bhp...

So, the '4Motion' remap is really for a A3 Quattro 180 bhp which takes it to 223-240 bhp?

That's the only way they'd get over 223 bhp with a simple remap...

    The 1st remap is for the 150 bhp 2wd A3 1.8t.

    ;o)

    ps best ring and ask!

They do not disconnect the haldex on4WD cars, the extra price is because of the time taken to set up a 4WD car on the RR against just driving a FWD on to it.

I had this problem when I organised a group buy over the summer.

That's what I thought. But why bother with this page?
    Or did Audi make a FWD 180 and a 4WD 150 that I don't know about?

It wouldn't make any odds to me anyway. My car is apparently too old for them to remap.

Websites are a pretty important link to a potential customer these days. You'd think some companies would put a little more effort into them really.
