Flip Key Question

I've currently got a 2 button flip key but want to purchase a new one. On ebay there are 3 button ones as theres an extra button for boot opening, can I buy the 3 button one and get it programmed at a audi dealership?

Answer is no mate, later A3/S3's had a solenoid operated boot release to make use of the third button, I would presume you have a manual lever operated mechanism on your car is you have the 2 button remote.

i dont thin he intends to use the boot opening button, think he just means will it stilll work on his car in terms of lock and unlcok his doors if he has it programed, maybe wrong tho

Mate has an A3 2000 w reg, 2 button key. Nowhere can we find the mhz...

what is the likely mhz of it??

yeah i just intend to use the door lock/unlock function.

i have no idea how to find out the MHz

normally printed in it or on it but isn't at all..

Why do you need to know the Mhz of the key?

But if you do, just find somebody with a frequency counter.

My guess is it's probably somewhere around 27megs.

want to know to be able to purcahse a new flip key off ebay..

ie. is it 434mhz... 433mhz.. 433.92mhz etc etc
