hi, quick question, been wondering for a while now, underneath the doors runninf from the wheel to wheel on the S3 there is that thing sticks out quite abit, looks cool, but is it actually there for a reason, like aerodynamics or something?
cheers

It's not a door blade is it??

All the 'S' models have them.

The S Lines have them too but not as pronounced.

aw yeh i no all 's' models have them, just wondering what they actually are and if they are there for any particular reason, door blade would be a good way to describe them like!

I reckon they are just there for show really. They may diffuse the air around the bottom of the car, not sure if they improve aerodynamics or anything.

One good thing about them is they protect the actual door when opened against a low wall or something like that.

Think they are for both looks and to deflect debris from the road away from the sides of the car!!
