Guys,

Can anyone help here? As the title says, When I put my fan/air con on i get a damp smell coming from the blowers for a couple of seconds. Is this normal
or is my air con system needing some attention? This did not happen on my
old A3 but it did not have air con.

cheers in advance
Alec

Have you checked if your pollen filter is wet?

I have heard of the area nect to the filter on A4's and A6's getting full of water because of a blocked drain. Not sure if A3's have the same problem.

On the A4 the sealing around the air-con filter is rubbish, so water gets in and causes the bad smell, compounded by the air being sucked in from the plenum where the battery sits. Same thing might happen with A3s? I fixed mine by changing the filter, sorting out the seal and spraying a can of antibacterial stuff into the system.

Cheers,

Can you tell me where the pollen filter is? Is it easy to remove/replace?

Also is this where I would spray the antibacterial spray?

Does the pollen filter not get changed every so many miles?

Sorry about all the questions

cheers again
Alec
