Just wondering what these large bolts are for at each corner of the front of my S3 engine bay above the headlights. They're marked to line them up so i'm abit unsure about losening them to get them chromed!

not sure, looks like it just secures the front bit to the wing
The mark is probably put there buy a technician to remind him its been done up !

Nothing to do with the headlamps, had mine out the other week. I think it secures the top of the crossmember to the wing as Olly suggests.

Regards, John.

only one way to find out !

You want to remove them, and run without them?

If so, you must be mad...they hold the front panel on, on straight, and contributes to the crash resistance if the front of the car.
If you mean just remove it, and replace with a chromed one, yes, that'll be fine.

I think it's to make it evident if it's come loose...as if it has the whole front end plastics etc will be loose and not function properly in the 5 MPH bumps etc.
