OK - I just fitted the splitter and after blood, sweat and tears!!!! I came across some small issues.

    1. 10mm self tappers were too small - I used 20mm.

    2. After cutting back some of the splitter I realised that the ends were not great looking - so I used the end bits from the previously cut flaps that I trimmed off and glued them to the ends of the splitter to give a nicer finish!

    3. I used a heat gun to soften the splitter and mould to the contours of the bumper - this really helped near to the arches.

hope this helps anyone else who is planning of doing this mod.

    Yeah fitted mine on Sat

Was a bit of a pain to do the endsbut Icut mine then smoothed them with some wet&dry. Will use a heat gun to mould them good idea.

How did you attach the middle bit of the spliter mine flaps about a bit

I used 20mm selftappers and 6x nut and bots, it aint coming off.

Second that. Maybe a quick guide on how to fit for all those less imaginative, rather than having to piece it together from all the posts? Where to cut? etc
    Thanks

the way I done it was - start at the front in the middle.

There are 2 little towers in the middle - these both need to be trimmed down as they are too tall. so you set the splitter against the bumper and trim the towers down till they sit flush. get the splitter centred and fire in a couple of self tappers. (do with masking tape if not sure)

so you have the middle front sitting right and secured then work your way back. get the front corners (just to the sides of the foglights) secured then hold the ends of the splitter up to the end of the bumper (back at the wheel arch). The ends will need trimmed so hold them up and mark them. I cut mine so they sat nice and flush up against the little flaps of the arch liners.

thats it. 4 cuts required. the 2 towers at the front and the 2 ends.
back to boost, oh how I missed thee....

    Just done mine today!
Wasn't too bad, as pablo says - start at the front middle and work your way around, i put masking tape across the bumper and a little bit on the splitter in-between the two 'towers' both with centre line marks on them and lined them up, banged in a few self tappers just to hold it together
the corners and ends do require a bit of heat just to make them more pliable then you can whack your self tappers in to hold in place.
I then went round taking each self tapper out, re drilling the hole and fitting a nut and bolt with a washer on either side as i found some of the self tappers wasn't quite gripping enough to pull the splitter in-line with the bumper.

i did it with the bumper off which made my life a bit easier but its not necessary, only takes 5mins to whip it off so i thought why not!

overall im happy with the result, makes the front end look a bit 'meaner' and just finishes it off imo.

    some pics below!

What it looks like before hacking it up!

    LOTS of fixings!

    Finished result!

i'm concerned that if i fix it too well, if it gets stuck on something at speed it will rip the bolts and selftappers off, damaging the bumper... what do you guys think? i don't wanna mess up my bumper.

i thought that! cant see it getting too stuck on anything, most it would do is damage the splitter i think

I have scraped mine a couple of times - its not too bad (as long as you are not doing 50mph over a speed bump) At first I was really concerned about it coming off, but now Im quite confident that its secure.

    cupra-r front splitter

hey guys, i've just found this cupra-r plan, looks great! i was sourcing a RS4 style bumper for my S3 from germany (s3-tuning.de) ta try an beef it up, this might do the trick for a fraction of the price and hassle!

    Question

I was just thinking...of the people who have fitted the LCR splitter, has anybody had the splitter painted? I think this would possibly only suit a black car tho. If anybody has any pics would be much appreciated...
