I am thinking of getting some 18" alloys with 225/40/18, however I am very confused as to what offset they would need to be. My current standard ones are 6.5J x 16 H2 ET42. I think I could get some with an offset of ET35, but what is safe to get without modification of the arches? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Also what alloys look best, i am currently thinking about the 2 piece oetinger RZs? If anyone has any pics, that would be cool.

M8,

As long as the offset is correct, 18's will go straight on completely hastle free...

Hi mate, ive got 18's on my A3 on a 40 offset, lowered 50mm and no problems at all even with a full load and full boot. I would stick to 40 if you can and there is a massive variety of aftermarket wheels that come in this offset so the choice is yours. Ill post a pic of mine so you can see /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
