Will it be ok buying a second hand performance Haldex? Just wondering if there's anything to look out for?

It's only an ECU box so it should be fine. If you get one cheaper than full price, I'd do it.

They're about 600 new including fitting. 250-300 would be more sensible IMO

Doesn't the controller also contain a pump? I don't know what happens if it dries out once it has been de-installed..

I thought it was just a straight swap?
But I'd check, do a search and see if you can find someone on here that already has one.

Basically, not a lot for your money, a stepper motor, and a few other bits and bobs:

350 is about on the money, i was offered this for mine when i was looking to sell. No probs swapping them over, just need the new small gasket, check for damaged wiring too.

Best thing to do is have it fitted then try and wheel spin lol. Also best to check to make sure its not a standard one with a lick of paint!

From what i remember its only a thinish paper gasket. Maybe try vagparts or similar for replacement as its probably going to get damaged on removal

It should come off the car with the unit, so if the HPP is still on the car you are getting it from no worries.

S3 haldex can shift up to 50% of the power away from the front wheels, stock or performance controller.

All the performance haldex controller does, is move that 50% to the rears sooner than the stock ecu, with the goal of getting ready for the power before it arrives.
