Hi guys

Me and the missus recently bought a 5 door X reg 1.8T A3

very impressed with the car, even if it is our 'runaround'

BUT

last night some strange things happened.

when left to idle, it would just stall

then on restarting, if I didnt feed the throttle to maintain revs.. the revs would wander / hubt.. then the car would die.

I gave it a bit of a blast and it seems to have solved the stalling issue, but the idle still hunts a bit

any ideas??? / sensors to check or clean up?

thanks

Sounds like a air mass (MAF) issue, if you know what it is/where it is disconnect the plug and see if it runs any better.
VERY common across all audi's

usual things to check, coolant sensor, lambda probe and give the throttle body a clean.

cheers guys.. anyone know where the MAF sensor on a 1.8T engine is?

im assuming the intake to the inlet manifold ?
