After a recent MOT i was informed that my heat shield had been working itself loose causing an annoying vibration @1200revs tick over on cold start up .Something to do with the mild steel bolts corroding over the stainless shield apparently.
Not had chance to fix as yet but could this
affect performance ??
Just wondering cos it seems to me that the dv valve seems quiter almost silent at times but still responsive as i can still hear the turbo whistling away quitely.
I have a spare dv valve(plastic) on stand-by if
needed or is it just a case of grinding off the old bolts and replacing with stainless ones on the shield.
Any pics on this subject or info would be great
Cheers Steve

Are you referring to the catalytic converter heat shield or the aluminium ones on the fire wall??

I think its probably the heat shields on the cats. Wont affect performance in anyway but it is better to get them attended to.
Might be worth speaking to the mot inspector and ask him which ones he was referring to.
