Rattly Wastegate

Having just put my car up for sale, I have noticed an intermittent rattle when the turbo is spinning. Have been told by a local Porsche specialist that it sounds like the wastegate.

As I'm a complete clutz, but own a set of tools, can anyone tell me how I can check this? And is it a replaceable part?
 
waste gate is internal to the turbo, the actuator arm that holds it closed on boost may have loosened over time needs tightening a specific amount or replacing, maybe even a hose to the turbo mechanism,, thats my amature opinion there are some techs on here who will be able to give you some good advice

is this on or off the power?
 
It's betwen 3500 and 4500 rpm, only when accelerating
 
Is it easy to check/replace the DV before I get the wastegate looked at?
 
If you read his sig you'll see its an MTM 330. This has the k26 which has an external wastegate.

Yes, Just simply remove it, push the internal diaphragm piston thing all the way to the top and hold your thumb over the top nipple. The piston should stay at the top until you remove your thumb at which point it should snap back to the original position.
 
You need to understand that my technical knowledge is minimal. Where is the diverter valve? Where is the wastegate? I know how to open the bonnet!!
 
Have a look on www.wak-tt.com for detailed instructions on the Diverter Valve etc.

It may look a little different to your set-up with the mtm kit installed.
