Hi, I bought my wife a 56 plate A3 a month ago and just sourced a nice set of replacement alloys for it. Went to fit them yesterday, but there's no locking wheel nut key...arghhh! Called the local Audi dealer and they say it'll be about £40 for a replacement if I bring it in. Anyone got any other ideas to avoid the £40 sting that I could do to just get them off the car! Any help would be most appreciated.

Firstly i think your in the wrong a3 section. Yours is a mk2?
not that it matters with this of course just fyi with future posts.
Are your locking wheel nuts splines?
any chance of a pic ?

Theres not many oem 1ones about and you can get the keys for about 13 quid if we can source the pattern

If he posts a pic i will find it. There arent that many!!!

Should have added the word "Probably"!

I think a photo of the wheel and locking nut to be on the safe side for a few reasons.

Take it to the skallywags at quickfit, they know how to get a locking nut off with whatever they find in their back pocket at the time.

They're also good at jacking cars up using nothing but 20 marlboro lights, a clipo lighter, the grace of a regal swan and 8 bricks.
