A3 1.8T Starter-Motor removal ??

Hello guys, how difficult is it to remove the starter-motor on a face-lift 1.8T, as the starter is noisey and I'd read somewhere it just needs stripping down and greasing, any info or instructions would be great, Jeff.

I've heard stripping down and regreasing is pointless, as it just comes out and the noise will return. I had the same problem and in the end i just replaced the motor, cost me £60 exchanging the old one. Not difficult to remove and refit. Just have a look in the haynes manual..

battery out and its then really obvious how to get it.
