Lost 4wd

Since replacing the pump on the diff due to making a noise I've lost 4wd the car is a 1999 s3 with a digital clock I've checked all the connections on the diff

First thing to do is scan your car with VAG-COM, is the new pump new or secondhand? and do you know if its a good one? (I.E not duff) check the Haldex fuse, earth strap if it has one (My 1999 APY S3 does not) also try good squirt of WD40 in the multiplug on the haldex. Have you changed the haldex oil and filter recently? If not, then do it.
