    New s3 owner

Hi all picked up my S3 in kingfisher blue today, great car with low miles and not in need of to much tlc.
My previous car was a mk1 leon cupra r with stage 2 modifications.

    Got a couple of questions

can the pixel display be repaired properly?
Is there a thread with pics of different oem wheels on s3's.
The rear grey bumper insert has faded can these be bought separate to the bumper?

ill be putting some pics on Instagram soon as the cars had a mint up.

    cheers

I don't know if you can buy the rear bumper insert separate to the bumper, IMO I wouldn't bother, just refurbish your existing one

Awesome I've been searching the forum, found the part number for the insert so that's a good start.

I'm from Birmingham is there quite a few birmingham owners out there

    Welcome to ASN!

Did you buy your S3 locally in Brum? Kingfisher Blue is rare on S3's, but I have seen one about occasionally.

For wheels, go through this thread.

    Post pics of your A3/S3

The rear insert can me machine polished, then finish off with trim detailer.

Hi i traveled to Maidstone Kent yesterday to pick it up.

just bought plugs and arranging cambelt and water pump at listers next week have a family member work there so get a decent price.

I've just been looking at the how to fix window clip fix, i am going to tackle that this week as well.

The rear insert has some damage as well so ill replace it i think.

Welcome to the site mate, there are a few Birmingham members on here.

Kingfisher Blue is a rare colour on the S3, the plate on it isnt S333 *** by any chance is it, as thats the only one I have ever seen.

Which Listers are you using out of interest?

Hi nilz no the plate is different so it's not that one.
Ill either use cov or Shirley for the bits mentioned so far.

I drove my leon cupra r today before new owner has it, I have to say my s3 needs some fettling!
Car is on a stage 2 Revo I can't believe the difference!
The leon has super sport bushes all round, front r32 roll bar, and uprated gear linkage feels so much tighter.

I have to say s3 cabin is a far nicer place to be tho.
The only thing I'm not keen on is the gear change in the s3 seems a touch sloppy.

Is the gearbox the same as the leon cupra r I'm hoping if I change the linkage it might tighten it up.

    Hey mate, thats cool...

There is a TPS in Brum and they are pretty good with serving customers, so if you are just getting parts, it maybe worth paying them a visit as you will get them at trade price. They are in Aston, just by the Royal Mail office, if you know it at all.

Im not sure the gearbox is the same, but the linkage change wont do any harm to be honest.

What year is the car and how many miles has it done, what is the history of it - mods wise??

Also with regards to the Cluster repair, as you are Birmingham, there is a place in Leicester that does it and has great reviews too, if you do a quick search, someone on here recently had it done and it was a good price too.

Even with a lot of tweaking, the S3 still won't quite match the LCR for fun, where the S3 shines is traction out of corners and in damp/wet conditions, you can still use most of the power.

Cheers for the info on cluster repair I'll check that out.

I get parts at trade through Audi any way bud, I do use tps although they are sometimes funny about serving me.

The car is completely standard on a Y plate 65k 210 version to get it tidy both bumpers need spraying and a nice set of oem wheels.

I would really like b6 s4 alloys just worried the stance won't be right once on the car.

I had no intentions of tuning but to be honest it looks like it'll be having stage 2 worthy mods soon and a badger 5 map.

I'd like to get new bushes that will help the car to feel tighter, if any one can recommend what super pro items I should buy to help the car feel tighter that would be great.

No worries mate, the B6 S4 rims look spot on!!

A couple of guys on here had them and they looked mint.

With regards to the bushes etc, it maybe worth creating a new thread or have a look through the stickies, plenty of info in there about suspension setups etc.
