What would cause twitching/twisting under hard braking, back end starts twisting a bit, could tracking be an issue or maybe a binding caliper

Tyre pressures, I go 32 front and 30 rear.
If tyres are directional, are they the right way.
Tyre condition.
I like to eliminate the free things first :)

32 all round done sunday, fronts are low need changing soon, tracking was done but changed springs so will need retracking, maybe thats just it

I find 32 rear makes them wear in the middle, but thats just my preference.
Was it tracked with low thread on the tyres? The rolling radius of new rubber VS almost MOT failure does make a difference.

Will be getting retracked when new tyres are on so shall see what its like after that, cheers

I'd check your rear callipers tbh as you say it happens under hard breaking- so therefore one of the rear callipers could be sticky (pretty normal on these type of callipers with lots of use and mileage)

I'd check the rear discs and pads both sides first to see if there is any obvious warping/score marks or excessive wear from one side to the other.
