Haldex controller question on S3 2002 BAM

Many have said the Haldex controllers are all the same for all S3 8L's from 1999 to 2002.

if this is the case why does this advert state Mk1 and 8L, but yet if you check to see if my car is compatible it says NO !?

As the ebay thing isn't all that accurate and from what I understand they aren't all the same, the difference being cars equipped with esp and none esp cars use a different controller and you can usually pick up a whole diff/haldex unit complete with controller and pump for alot less than that, I know i did.

well, I read somewhere that someone checked with the Audi parts DB and the part number is the same for the entire S3 8L range.
So I guess I will have to check with Audi myself just to be sure.

Update - didn't need to check with Audi. Silly me - I simply logged into vag-com and guess what, this appeared....

Address 22: AWD
Controller: 02D 900 554 C
Component: HALDEX LSC ECC 0010
No fault code found.

So that answers that!
