Hi, I'm installing new rods, so I marked the position of the stock. In the stock rods the grooves of the rod bearing are in the side of the exhaust manifold.

But I saw a video saying that the groves in the IE rods should be on the side of the intake!

I'm a kind of lost...

Should I do it like the stock or should I change the position?

Stock rods have notch on inlet side too. You have incorrectly marked it. Or engine has been incorrectly assembled by someone previous

I marked them in place there's no way I had it wrong. So the engine was opened in the past... And it's very strange... Could it be from factory ?

Every 20v I have ever worked on has the tangs facing the inlet side... no idea why yours would be different other than rebuilt previously...
